Wednesday Art! (First post - new feature)

Welcome to the first entry in my new feature - Wednesday art! This will be a weekly feature on my blog - aimed at inspiring me to create and share some of my artistic intuitions. To my mind there are two ways to do art. The first is conceptual; aimed at giving conveying perspectives and ideas. Examples include the movie Inception, the discipline of dadaism and the game Portal. The second is phenomenological; aimed at giving you a rich sense experience. Examples include the movie Up, the discipline of expressionism and the game Journey. I will try to meander between the two; often bending rules to give you sense expressions. Click the images to enlarge them. I hope you enjoy!

Image: The Iceberg

This image is based on a real photograph, which I suspect was taken by Uwe Kils, though I never managed to find the source. The original can be found on the ecoscope home page.  The final form was worked out by me and Hanne Ekran Thomassen in colaboration. Hanne is a promising industrial designer, who's grasp of form and function is ever improving. Her portfolio can be found here. "The Iceberg Image" was given to my father for his 60th birthday along with a self written poetry collection called "Reiseskildringer" (never published).

The Dock in Skarsvåg

I wish this image was sharper - but look at the colors! I love finding patches of wonder like this. I've been around other places on the island too, taking photographs where I go. I hope that by the end of summer I will have a collection to present to you all, that shows Magerøya in a good light.
